Bradley Welter currently serves as the director of business strategy for KIPP Houston. In this role, Welter creates processes to develop and capture strategic intent with the ultimate intent of translating these ideas into action. Typical projects include producing financial models, business processes, and leading strategic initiatives in the HR, Finance, Capital Construction and Operations functional areas for the 18 school charter district. Prior to joining The Broad Residency, Welter served as a project engineer at Foster-Wheeler USA, a prominent engineering and construction contractor. In this role, he was primarily responsible for developing and monitoring processes for controlling quality, cost and schedule for a billion dollar domestic refinery expansion. Previously, Welter spent five years with KBR, where he was a project manager leading capital projects in the energy and chemicals industry from proposal stage through construction. Welter holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Florida and a master's in business administration from the Jones School at Rice University. Welter participated in The Broad Residency in Urban Education Cohort 2008, serving his two-year Residency at KIPP Houston.
